MetaCompass
MetaCompass is a reference-guided metagenomic assembly tool. I led critical innovations on this project, rapidly adapting to complex bioinformatics tools including Nextflow, samtools, and bamtools. I accelerated a project that had been stalled for 4.5 years to completion in just 6 months, optimized core algorithms to more than double its speed, and developed and open-sourced a comprehensive tool that significantly advanced metagenomic studies.
